Christmas Tag

 Picture from here

It's officially 1 week until Christmas Day! Who's excited?

I'm so excited to go back home to Bournemouth and spend Christmas with my lovely family, although a little sad to be leaving the boy behind.

We already have the Christmas songs on in the office, and home made gingerbread cookies being tucked in to.

Anyway! To get even more in the Christmas mood I decided to do the Christmas Tag!

What time of year do you start your Christmas shopping?
Usually I am a really late Christmas shopper, often collecting gifts on Christmas Eve and getting super stressed out. However, this year I have been super organised and started in November!

Do you have any festive recipes for food or drink you limit solely to the Christmas season to share? My mum bakes the most amazing Nigella Coke Soaked Cooked Ham, and we usually have these honey roasted cocktail sausages too. This year I've also decided to make home-made gifts to go along with main presents for my family. I love baking, so thought it would be a great idea! They are getting a mix between Vanilla Shortbread and Christmas Rocky Road.

Tell me how Christmas goes down in your home?
It always used to be my older sister having to wake me and my other sister up to open Christmas presents at ridiculous o'clock in the morning - however, I have a feeling this year it will be my niece doing that instead. Presents in the morning, and then Mum saying dinner will be ready at 2pm which actually means 4pm!

Do you have any Christmas traditions?
We always have a Christmas Radio Times and a tin of Quality Streets. I usually go to the pub and see my old school friends on Christmas Eve too, which is nice as I hardly ever get to see them these days!

Do you have a favourite festive coffee? Gingerbread latte! Or good old Chai Tea Latte.

Do you have a favourite Christmas song?
Yes! Probably Mariah Carey - although I do like the new Leona Lewis one. Also Michael Buble Christmas Album goes down a treat on Christmas morning.

What do you do on Christmas Eve?
Usually watch a rubbish Christmas film, see my Nan and go to the pub to see my old school friends.

What's your Christmas wrapping strategy?
I like to buy wrapping papers that go nicely together then use a mixture when wrapping all the presents. I did want to buy brown paper and ribbon this year but the brown wrapping paper was so expensive!

What's your dream gift this year?
My list was very boring this year. I asked Chris for perfume and a slow cooker. And Despicable Me 2 on DVD. I asked my Mum & Dad for a BBC Good Food Subscription. Wild, I know.

Describe your Christmas tree. How tall? Real or artificial? How is it decorated?
The one at mine & Chris' house is a little artificial one on the coffee table, we didn't see the point of getting a big, real one when neither of us are there over Christmas. However, my Mum & Dad will definitely have a big real one! I loooove the smell.

Do you decorate just the tree or other areas of your house e.g. windows, bannisters?
Usually other areas! Hang a wreath on the door and have some cute twinkly lights in the tree in the front garden.

What do you wear to Christmas parties and what do you wear on Christmas day?
Christmas parties is a time to dress up. Christmas Day is all about the Christmas jumper. I will be rocking a Primark special this year.
Have a great Christmas everyone!
