1. Baths will be a luxury
Not a chore where your mum has to bribe you to set foot near to it. As an adult, the thought of a bath is exciting, luxurious and oh so relaxing - and yet almost impossible to get round to doing.
2. Getting a job is hard
3. Stamping your feet still gets you nowhere
And it's totally inappropriate to do this at work, even though you know you're right and it's not fair.
4. Snow is not fun
You don't get a day off work, the roads turn to slush and people forget how to drive.
5. Drivers are bad people
Driving brings out the worst in everyone. Yep, even you.
6. Doing washing is the worst chore, ever
Sorting it, washing it, drying it, folding it. It's dull. And you usually spend your weekends doing it. Double wammy.
7. The fridge doesn't magically fill itself
Food is expensive, there will be times where you go to the fridge on numerous occasions, only to be faced with empty shelves.
What's the one thing you never got told about being an adult?

This has made me so sad. Can we just pretend to be young again and forget all these things exist? Please? Ahhh at least we're all in it together I guess! x
ReplyDeleteIsn't it just? You never realise how easy you have it as a kid until you become an adult and have to fend for yourself!! x
DeleteHah I love this - especially the one about getting a job! I think it's all those stupid things that you now have to deal with, sorting out bills and bank accounts and phone accounts and just things I don't want to have to deal with!! x

I know Jasmin! I feel exactly the same, no one warned me about all these jobs I would have to do!
DeleteThis really made me laugh :-) The bath one is so true. I've had times now where I feel too tired to even get a bath and it seems like too much faff! What's that about?
ReplyDeleteGlad it made you laugh, Angela. I know exactly what you mean, sometimes the effort it takes to have a bath is just too much to handle!!
DeleteAbsolutely loved this! It reminded me that back in the day I wrote a whole blog post on why I don't like snow and found it especially http://www.emilyetc.blogspot.co.uk/2009/02/say-no-to-snow.html haha! Also washing clothes is the worst xx
ReplyDeleteLove love love this! Great post Sophie :)
ReplyDeleteWashing clothes really is crap, I find that as soon as I've ploughed through the wash bin and it's empty, I come back what seems like an hour later and it's full again....HOW!!! It's like there are magic washing gremlins lurking around urgh!
